2023 Bentley Continental GT and 2023 Bentley Flying Spur S Specs, Release date, Price
Two New Models Are Ready to Take Bentley to Full-Electric Era. The hybrid trends seem to be the main theme of next year’s car market. Many car manufacturers have released or are planning to release a new model with this system. Bentley is no exception. According to the official information from this prestigious car manufacturer, the new 2023 Bentley Continental GT will be released with the plug-in hybrid option. The Continental GT with a plug-in hybrid option is the starting point for the all-electric Bentley. Yes, this company plans to migrate into a car manufacturer for only the EV model.
2023 Bentley Continental GT Specs
The first all-electric model will be released in 2026 before it goes to a fully-electric car manufacturer in 2030. Before that release, you can enjoy the plug-in hybrid model, one of which is the new 2023 Bentley Continental GT. Along with the new Continental GT, Bentley will also release the new Flying Spur S 2023. As for this one, they have revealed many things, so we can get what this model has for you. Here, we will learn more about these two new models from Bentley.
The Similar Design
The new Continental GT 2023 will have a similar design to the current model. The only difference is the fuel filler cap. On the new model, you can find two of them. On the right side of its body, you can see the standard rounded filler cap for the petrol. On the left side, it has a square cap for charging the electric motor.
Interestingly, it has 12 badges on the front side. Usually, it indicates the W12 powertrain capability. However, we think Bentley won’t produce the PHEV version for the W12 powertrain. So, we assume that this part is only decoration, which is the perfect choice to make it look elegant. Design-wise, we can see that Bentley is trying to add the sports car vibe to this new sedan. And, we think that is a good idea, as a way to introduce the new series that could be the backbone of this company in the future when it has migrated into a full-electric production.
2023 Bentley Flying Spur S Specs
The Flying Spur S 2023 has a different vibe than the sports car theme on the new Continental GT. The new model doesn’t have a chrome exterior anymore. It uses the gloss black grille and dark tint headlights and taillights. Those two create a mysterious and more excellent appearance, which is the opposite of the new Continental GT.
Performance and Features of Bentley Continental GT and Flying Spur S 2023
Unfortunately, Bentley has not released the official specifications for the new Continental GT 2023. That means we can only speculate based on a similar class like Bentayga and Flying Spur PHEV. So, based on Bentley Bentayga Hybrid, the new Continental will have at least a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 petrol engine. The electric motor will be powered by 17.3 kWh lithium-ion battery packs. The power output will likely be around 330 kW and 700 lb-ft of torque.
How about Flying Spur S PHEV? It uses the twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine. This engine produces 542 horsepower and 569 lb-ft of torque. The top speed is only 177 mph. However, it is pretty impressive for a hybrid version, as it also has 21 miles of electric-only range. You can still feel the Bentley vibe in it.
Price and Release Date
Both cars have been revealed at the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed. The release date will be at least before 2026, when this company will release the full EV model. As for the prices, the new Continental GT PHEV 2023 will have a similar price as the current model. As for the Flying Spur S hybrid version, it is available starting from $243,000.
