2024 Chevy Blazer EV SS – Specifications, release date, design

The 2024 Chevy Blazer EV SS model is ready to compete in next year’s car competition. And, from its name, you can see that it will be an electric-type car model from this brand. This car will be released along with the Equinox EV. Both of them are the way Chevrolet expands its lineup for the electric vehicle category. With more cars to be released next year, how will this new Blazer fare? It is all depending on its design and performance we will try to learn here.

The Unique Design of the New 2024 Blazer EV SS
Thanks to Mary Barra, CEO of General Motors, tweet, we can see the clear image of the new Blazer EV. From the image, we can see that it has a more futuristic touch compared to the current Blazer. The accent on the side as well as the design of the front side has many elements that only put this car’s appearance on the next level.
We can say from the design, that it enters the mid-sized crossover. The large wheels and long
wheelbase, plus the rear overhangs create a good combination. In short, it is a beautiful vehicle. However, the image that we can see from that tweet is only the SS version. It means this design is only for the higher performance level.
It is not surprising if each element we see in this sneak peek photo has a role in improving its
performance, such as aerodynamics and such. We might have to wait for the official release of its specs to learn more about it. The detailed specs will be released in July. However, we can still predict based on the design and the previous model.
More importantly, Chevy stated that they build this car from zero. Therefore, we can assume that the image of this car is the final product, ready to sell. There won’t be too many changes in its exterior design. If it is about changes, we can expect other models than SS that might have a more-tamed form than the wild Blazer EV SS.
2024 Chevy Blazer EV Specs and Performance
Our prediction comes from the the architecture’s observation of the car frame on this new Blazer EV. We can see that it uses a similar design and even size to the Ultium-platform EV. Therefore, there is the possibility that this new Blazer will use a similar electric motor as the Silverado EV. If that is what this car has, the power output you get can reach 664 horsepower, similar to Silverado EV.
The other thing that we also can predict is the usage of the Super Cruise feature. As we all know, Chevy has this feature installed on many of its car models. And, by looking at the new Blazer front side design,we can assume that there is a place where Chevy can put a camera to support this feature. At least, the SS model most likely has this feature.
We can see, this car has a slightly lower ground clearance than the Blazer SUV. It means we can expect this car to enter the speed category with its crossover feature. Maybe it has more transmission? Or, it also could use the automatic transmission that gives you a more comfortable driving experience.
In short, July 18th, the day when Chevrolet will reveal the detailed specification of this car model, is the day we are looking for. On that day, we will know everything about this car, including its drivetrain, charging speed, interior, and many more.
Price and Release Date
According to Chevrolet, the 2024 Blazer EV will be available for you to buy in spring 2023. However, with the revelation of the full specs on July 18th, we can expect that you can already buy the SS model at the end of 2022.
As for the prices, we think the Blazer EV, especially the SS model, is much better than Equinox and Silverado EV. Therefore, the price will be higher than $30,000, which is the price of a unit of the Equinox model. That is only the starting price. The 2024 Chevy Blazer EV SS model will be much more expensive.
